About the APWU Executive Vice President
The second-highest-ranking officer in the American Postal Workers Union is the executive vice president. This officer is responsible for assisting the president with the administration of the union.
As directed by President William Burrus, Cliff Guffey has general responsibility for overall field operations. The vice president recently has focused his efforts on cutting expenses at headquarters and reducing the grievance backlog.
Among the areas that the vice president is largely responsible for are veterans (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs) issues and other Merit Systems Protection Board matters.
