Arbitration Postponed
Burrus Update #61, Dec. 13, 2001
Arbitrator Steven Goldberg announced that his final decision in the APWU interest arbitration would not be available, Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, as originally expected. Therefore, the teleconference originally scheduled for Friday, Dec. 14, will be postponed until Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Locals interested in learning the details of the award should contact my staff at (202) 842-4248 to receive the new telephone number to connect to the teleconference. Each teleconference is assigned a unique telephone number, so those who have participated in prior teleconferences must get a new number from my office. The telephone number for the Tuesday, Dec. 18, conference will not be the number we were given when the teleconference was scheduled for Friday. Due to technical constraints, we can provide only one teleconference site per local.
A teleconference for Regional Coordinators and National Business Agents is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at 11 a.m. EST. Please call my staff at (202) 842-4248 to get the telephone number for that teleconference as well.
It is important that those who wish to participate call prior to 3:00 p.m. EST so that they can hear the entire presentation.
Following the teleconference, the entire award will appear on the APWU web site, www.apwu.org.
