Fraudulent Document Circulated
Burrus Update #10-06, Aug. 4, 2006
A fake memo that purports to come from my office has apparently been circulating in the field. The fraudulent communication indicates that the contract of Arbitrator E. Schmertz has been cancelled. This counterfeit document was not authorized by me or my staff and does not represent the intentions of APWU. One can only assume that the party or parties that hope to benefit from the existence of such a fraud are the authors.
The American Postal Workers Union does not inform arbitrators of their employment status via internal union memos.
