Union Mourns of Loss of Senator Kennedy
The American Postal Workers Union joins the nation in mourning the death of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, a life-long champion of labor.
“Ted Kennedy was instrumental in passing legislation of great importance to working people,” said APWU President William Burrus, “including minimum wage laws, the Family & Medical Leave Act, and workers safety protection. He was a fierce advocate of desperately-needed healthcare reform, and an ardent support of the Employee Free Choice Act. He will be sorely missed.”
