APWU Web News Article #13B-04, Oct. 5, 2004
The APWU national officers election ballot count began Oct. 5. Unofficial results will be posted on the union's Web site, www.apwu.org, as soon as they become available. Secretary-Treasurer Terry Stapleton has announced that 74,267 pieces of mail have been received.
"The number of ballots may fluctuate since more than one ballot may be returned in certified, priority and express mail envelopes," Stapleton said. [PDF]
The Election Committee took ballots from the designated post office box at 2 p.m. on Oct. 5. The pieces of mail were transported to the Best Western Inn in Laurel MD, where they will be opened, scanned, and tallied by Merkle Direct Marketing, an independent balloting association.
The unofficial tallies will be updated frequently.
