The question raised in this grievance involved the local use of a BMC parcel sorter that had been modified to allow a single operator to do both facing and keying duties. After further review of this matter, we mutually agreed to close this case based upon the following understanding: The local office has stopped using the modified parcel sorter; and the modified parcel sorter will not be used in other than the current test cities until the union is notified at the national level.
