Step 4 Settlement Agreement (NALC): Article 8; Hours of Work (1983)

The question raised in this grievance involves whether local management violated the terms of the 1981 National Agreement by not specifically providing for additional wash-up time when carriers use a self-service gas pump.  It was mutually agreed that the following would represent a full settlement of this case:
On days that carriers use self-service gas pumps to fuel their assigned vehicles, they will be allowed to wash their hands.  However, no additional time allowances will be credited for such wash-up.
