Article XIV of the National Agreement states "The Employer and the Unions insist on the observance of safe rules and safe procedures by employees and insist on correction of unsafe conditions". One of those rules is Part 253.5 of the Supervisor's Safety Handbook, P-13, which states "The wearing of loose clothing, long sleeves, gloves, neckties, rings, bracelets, or necklaces is not permitted while working around conveyor belts or other moving machinery." The LSM is considered moving machinery. In the interest of good safety practices, it is for the benefit of all concerned to comply, with all safety rules, inclusive of Part 253.5 of the P-13. In conclusion, we find no violation of the National Agreement.
