Royal Mail Customer Speaks Out Against Privatization, Backs Staples Boycott
September 15, 2015
While leafletting in front of the Staples location at 1500 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, Stop Staples protesters ran into Jane Caplan, who was visiting from Oxford, England.
Caplan said that there were many parallels between the Stop Staples campaign and Britain’s Royal Mail, the country’s postal service, which was privatized last year. Caplan talked about “ridiculous” stamp prices and slow customer service.
“It’s no longer our post office, it is a private enterprise’s post office,” Caplan said.
