10 Roads Express Organizing Committee: We Won!

A message from the APWU 10 Roads Express Harrisburg Union Organizing Committee:

We, the 10 Roads Express Drivers in Harrisburg, PA, have won our union election by a vote of 45-31!

We are now proud to be part of the American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO, joining the nearly 1,000 10 Roads Express drivers across the nation that are currently represented by the APWU! We worked hard to win our union, stood strong in solidarity against management lies and scare tactics, and did the hard work together that was necessary to win! As of today, management no longer has absolute power and control in Harrisburg, PA. As of today, we collectively deal with management as their legal equals! From this day forward, management cannot change anything regarding our conditions of employment without bargaining with us!

A New Day Has Dawned!

10 Roads Express drivers in Harrisburg now have a real voice and power to bargain with 10 Roads Management over everything to do with wages, hours, and working conditions. Together, we will fight to secure things such as fair work rules, seniority rights, bidding rights, job security, and more. Most importantly, we will not accept being treated with anything less than the dignity and respect that we, as professional drivers, deserve. We are already starting the process of preparing for contract negotiations, planning meetings to decide what our bargaining priorities will be and who will be on our bargaining committee. We will also be working to expeditiously set up our new APWU Local Union, write our new union constitution, and elect our first Union officers.

Next Steps

  • Over the next days and weeks, we will communicate as frequently as necessary to keep all Harrisburg 10 Roads drivers informed of developments.
  • We will work hard to do what is necessary to prepare for bargaining and to set up our new APWU local union.
  • We will soon be announcing the date, time and place of our Union Victory Party!
  • We will be announcing open meetings where we will propose, discuss, and approve our bargaining priorities and our bargaining committee.

In Solidarity,
The APWU 10 Roads Express Harrisburg Union Organizing Committee
