Step 4 Settlement Agreement: Article 37.4.B.2; Posting, Bidding, and Application (1981)
Return to Contract DatabaseThis Step 4 Settlement Agreement addresses whether or not a Sorter Induction Accuracy Test (SIAT) was properly conducted. Specifically, the Union maintained that provisions of the M-49 Handbook were violated by conducting the test with the supervisor standing in a location where he did not have a clear view of the grievant and the supply of mail to the keyers. After further review of this matter, it was mutually agreed that whether or not the supervisor referred to in this case was positioned in a manner that would enable him to make observations in a given situation as required by the referenced handbook, was a matter that should be determined locally.
