We mutually agreed that there was no interpretive dispute between the parties at the national level as to the meaning and intent of Article XIII of the National Agreement as it relates to the establishment of light duty assignments. Through local negotiations, light duty assignments may be established by adjusting normal assignments without seriously affecting the production of the assignment, as in Section C.1., or light duty assignments may be established from part-time hours, to consist of 8 hours or less in a service day and 40 hours or less in a service week, as in Section C.2. In any case, the light duty employee's tour hours, work location and basic work week shall be those of the light duty assignment and the needs of the service, whether or not the same as the employee's previous duty assignment, as indicated by Section C.3. Application should be a matter to be determined at the local level as required.
