The question raised in this grievance involved the use of the Model 89 conveyer belt, after a safety hazard had been noted by the union and management. After further review of this matter, we mutually agreed that no national interpretive issue is fairly presented in the particulars evidenced in this case. It is the understanding of the parties at the national level that local management has taken precautionary measures to alleviate the safety hazard. Further, we have been advised that the subject contracts for modifying the Model 89 conveyor belts have been awarded and completion of the work is expected by February 1984. Local management shall keep the local union informed of any further developments regarding this subject. Accordingly, as we further agreed, this case is hereby remanded to the parties at Step 3 for further processing, if necessary. This document contains two related issues; a Step 4 Agreement on Page 1 and a Step 4 Agreement on Page 2.
