The question raised in this grievance is whether a safety hazard exists when FSM operators are instructed to clear jams on the Flat Sorting Machine. After further review of this matter, we mutually agreed to close this case. We agreed that employees assigned to the FSM may be utilized to clear jams as provided by the FSM 775 manual. However, MPE mechanics may be used, depending on the complexity of the jam.
