The issue in this grievance is whether management's modification to the rollers on the Barcode sorter caused an unsafe practice in violation of the National Agreement. After reviewing this matter, we mutually agreed that no national interpretive issue is fairly presented in this case. We further agreed that the design and development of automated systems will be accomplished according to Article 14, Section 1 of the National Agreement and Handbook EL-801, Supervisor's Safety Handbook. Since the modified rollers are no longer in use, this issue in this grievance is moot.
