Step 4 Settlement Agreement: Article 19; Handbooks and Manuals (1984)

The question in this grievance is whether management is approving the absence when the Form 3971 is noted approved and signed by management. On a non precedent and non citable basis and without prejudice to the position of either party, the parties at the national level agree to the following as final settlement of this grievance. The approval of sick leave by management is for pay purposes only and does not indicate the approval of the specific absence. Further, discipline is administered in accordance with Article 16 of the National Agreement.
