The question in this grievance is whether or not management violates Article VI of the National Agreement when former supervisors return to the regular workforce after September 15, 1978, and are not protected from lay-off until after they complete 6 years of continuous service.  Many of these employees have more than 6 years of continuous service as supervisors.  It is our position that members of the regular workforce are clearly defined in Article VII and only those employees receive the protection discussed in Article VI.  Accordingly, as we find no violation of the National Agreement, this grievance is denied.
