22nd Biennial APWU National Convention Resolutions Now Posted
June 23, 2014
Resolutions that will be considered by delegates to the APWU 22nd Biennial National Convention are now posted [members only] online at www.apwu.org. Delegates will debate and vote on the proposals that will guide the union’s work over the next two years. The resolutions address labor-management issues, workers’ solidarity, legislative topics, craft-specific items, and proposals to change the union’s constitution.
“Posting the resolutions online gives union members and delegates the opportunity to discuss specific proposals before the convention begins,” APWU President Mark Dimondstein said. “Upon arrival in Chicago, each delegate will receive a copy of the resolutions in book form, so they will be able to review each proposal as it is debated.”
In accordance with convention rules, additional resolutions may be presented at the National Convention as addendums, provided they have been properly authorized by locals, state organizations, or members-at-large.
A list of previously adopted Labor-Management Resolutions also is available; these resolutions will not be considered again (except via a motion for reconsideration).
The convention will be held July 21-25.
