Ballot Placement Set, Candidates Certified for Election of APWU National Officers

Secretary-Treasurer Terry Stapleton has certified the following union members as candidates for election to national office by referendum balloting, as mandated by the APWU Constitution and Bylaws.

A drawing to determine the order candidates’ names will appear on the ballot was held on Friday, June 22, 2007, at 10 a.m. Incumbent officers are listed first, and are denoted by (I) appearing after their name.

Secretary-Treasurer Stapleton cast one vote for the candidates in the uncontested races and the National Election Committee declared them elected, in accordance with the Constitution. Their names will not appear on the ballot.

Eligibility to Vote 

To be eligible to vote, members of the American Postal Workers Union must have been “in good standing” according to the official records of the national union on June 15 of the election year.

Mailing of the Ballots

Ballots are scheduled to be mailed to APWU members on or after Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007 , but no later than Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 . Members in good standing who have not received a ballot by Thursday, Sept. 20, should notify their local or contact the American Arbitration Association between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. , Monday-Friday, Eastern Time, at 800-529-5218 to request a duplicate. You will be asked to provide your name, the last four digits of your Social Security number, along with your local, craft, mailing address, and telephone number, in order to receive a duplicate ballot. You also may request a ballot via e-mail to apwu@adr.org.

To be valid, ballots must be in the designated post office box by Friday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m.
