The Consumer Driven Option (CDO)
The Consumer Driven Option is APWU Health Plan’s solution for inexpensive and comprehensive care. By making our members the primary decision-maker regarding the health care they receive we limit the amount of over usage that occurs and pass the savings on to the member.
CDO Features:
- Free in-network preventive care and screenings
- Free tobacco cessation program
- Free diabetes management
- 100 percent coverage for the first $1,200 of your annual health care expenses for self coverage or $2,400 for self and family
- No co-payments or up-front deductibles
- Choice of doctors, no referrals
- Low premium negotiated by the APWU
The High Option (HO)
The High Option is everything you want in a health plan with low co-pays and deductibles, a nationwide PPO network with CIGNA and a variety of benefits designed with the American Postal Workers Union in mind.
HO Features:
- NEW-Weight Management Program with free dietician/nutritionist visits in-network
- Free in-network preventive care and screenings
- Free Diabetes and Hypertension care
- Routine Dental Coverage
- Hearing Aid Benefits
- 95 percent coverage at Cancer Centers of Excellence
- Choice of doctors, no referrals
