A Closer Look at The March 4 Atlanta Staples Protest

A new video highlights the APWU’s recent protest at a Staples store in Atlanta, which is one of four test areas for a scheme that privatizes postal retail operations at the office-supply stores.  

More than 75 APWU members held a spirited protest on March 4, challenging a no-bid deal between the company and the U.S. Postal Service that staffs “postal” counters in Staples stores with non-postal employees. The deal threatens living, wage union jobs and jeopardizes public post offices, protesters said.
