Keep the Promise: Pass the Bill

APWU officers and staff were among the thousands who stood in solidarity with the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) outside the Capitol on Sept. 8, demanding that Congress “Keep the Promise: Pass the Bill.”

If Congress does not act now to pass the Miners Protection Act of 2015 and the Coal Healthcare and Pensions Protection Act of 2015, more than 22,000 retired miners and their widows will lose their healthcare benefits early next year.
