OIG Approved Shipper Report

The Office of Inspector General of the USPS has recently issued an Audit Report entitled “Approved Shippers, Pricing and Customer Service.” This audit was requested by the APWU due to the union’s concerns over the Staples Approved Shipper program relating to security of the mail and protection of postal revenues.
The APWU leadership has reviewed the report and is paying close attention to the serious issues uncovered by the OIG. The APWU has taken up our concerns with postal management as part of our continuing discussions regarding the USPS relationship with Staples.
