OSHA Cites USPS For Safety Violations in Baton Rouge

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited the USPS for safety violations at the Baton Rouge (LA) Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC) for exposing employees to electrical hazards.

The OSHA citations issued at the Baton Rouge facility total $97,500. Postal employees were found working on energized equipment without protective gear, and were exposed to electrocution from live machinery.

The recent citations bring the Postal Service’s total OSHA fines to nearly $2 million dollars.
