OSHA Fines USPS For Safety Violations at Kansas City BMC

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued the Postal Service $191,000 in fines for exposing employees to serious and repeat safety hazards at the Bulk Mail Center (BMC) in Kansas City, KS.
OSHA cited the USPS after inspectors found problems with walking and working surfaces; machine guarding; welding and electrical equipment; exit routes; eye wash facilities, and hazard communication.
The latest violations bring the Postal Service’s total OSHA fines to over $4.4 million.
