San Jose Celebrates Mexican Independence Day in a Big Way

Members of the San Jose Area Local went big – collecting over 1,000 signatures on postcards declaring, “I Stand with Postal Workers.” at the area’s Mexican Independence Day celebration on Sept. 13.

The local was able to secure a booth at the day-long event, where union members talked with attendees about APWU’s fight for a good contract and good service, along with the Staples boycott, the fabricated USPS financial crisis, the threat of privatization and more.
