Young Workers Summit
August 19, 2011
From Wisconsin to Egypt, young people are making a difference in the fight for social justice and economic security. With unemployment in the U.S. at an all-time high and attacks on workers' rights increasing, young workers are emerging as leaders in the labor movement.
APWU members age 35-and-under are encouraged to lend their talents to the growing movement for change by joining hundreds of young workers, activists and leaders at the second annual Next Up Young Workers Summit, to be held Sept. 29-Oct. 2, in Minneapolis MN.
Sponsored by the AFL-CIO, the events will feature a series of workshops on organizing, young worker activism, social media, and other activities focusing on movement-building and leadership development.
Visit the Next Up web site for registration and other information about the gathering.
