On Memorial Day, Honor Those Who Sacrificed So Much
May 23, 2013
As Memorial Day approaches, the APWU reminds union members to honor the extraordinary men and women of the Armed Forces who have sacrificed so much in service to our nation.
Throughout our history, Americans have been protected by patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice to advance the cause of freedom.
Wherever you are at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 27 — whether alone or with family and friends at the ballpark or a picnic — please pause for the National Moment of Remembrance to honor those who lost their lives in military service to our nation.
“On Memorial Day, we remember those who died serving our country, as well as those who survived the hardships of war,” said APWU President Cliff Guffey. "The men and women serving overseas are in our thoughts and prayers.
“America must honor them while they serve — and support them when they return home,” he said.
