Local union financial officers are encouraged to register for webinars on the Department of Labor's new online system for submitting financial reports required by the agency. The training sessions will be offered by the department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) on June 24 and July 15; the new system is expected to go online in July.

Under the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA), APWU locals with receipts of $250,000 or more are required to annually report financial information to OLMS. All locals that file LM-2 reports must submit them online.

The 90-minute webinars will include an overview of the system, with instructions on how to register and apply for a password and PIN, followed by a demonstration on how to navigate the new LM-2 form. Officers will be instructed on how to import data from XML and CSV files, as well as how to validate, print, sign and submit the form. This new web based reporting will eliminate the need for electronic signatures.

Question-and-answer sessions will be offered at the end of the webinars.

Officers may register for one of the two sessions, which will be offered on Thursday, June 24, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. (EDT), or on Thursday, July 15 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. (EDT).

Officers are encouraged to register in advance, as there is room for a limited number of participants in each session.
