The issue in this grievance is whether the day of receipt of a notice of discipline should be included as part of the required minimum period of notice to the employee. After reviewing this matter, we mutually agreed that no national interpretive issue is fairly presented in this case. We further agreed that for purposes of computing the period of notice required in advance of the imposition of various disciplinary measures, such notice period shall be deemed to commence on the day following the date upon which the letter of notification is received by the employee. Accordingly, ve agreed to remand this case to the parties at Step 3 for further consistent with the above, processing including arbitration if necessary.
