Just Say ‘No!’ to the Postal Pulse!

The Postal Service has announced that it is once again conducting a “Postal Pulse” survey from March 10 to April 17.  APWU leadership is urging members to refrain from participating in management’s Postal Pulse survey. In the past, management has used surveys as a weapon against us in negotiations and arbitrations—often as grounds to deny or reduce the scope of general wage increases or refrain from making other meaningful workplace improvements that would produce real positive change for employees at the Postal Service.

Under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and our Collective Bargaining Agreement, the APWU is the sole representative of the bargaining unit. Over years of struggle, and through national negotiations, we have secured an enforceable grievance process and a negotiated labor-management cooperation process. The labor-management process is the proper way to address workplace issues affecting postal workers, not a management survey administered without any input from the APWU or the other postal unions. As we address issues at the Postal Service, including our “Safety Matters” campaign, toxic work environments, and more, it is important that we deny management the opportunity to present an inaccurate picture of our workplaces.

Regardless of pressure from supervisors or managers, letter correspondence, excessive emails, or other tactics, employees are not required to participate in this survey, and the APWU urges you not to participate in the Postal Pulse.

Stay united, stand strong, and don’t be fooled by management’s tricks created to divide us. Just say “No!” to the Postal Pulse!
