Join the Virtual Contract Rally on June 24 to Kickoff APWU Contract Negotiations

We are excited to announce the Contract Negotiations Virtual Kickoff Rally at 7 p.m. EST on June 24 as we begin negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

Join APWU President Mark Dimondstein, Secretary-Treasurer Elizabeth Powell, and labor and community allies, as we rally to win a strong new union contract. As we continue building union power with the momentum of our successful national organizing drive, which runs through June 25, this is our moment to come together in solidarity and prepare for what’s ahead.

We encourage local and state organizations to hold additional events in support of a new contract.

“Union Proud, Say it Loud” Good Contract Now! APWU, USPS Contract Negotiations Begin June 25

The current APWU collective bargaining agreement expires on Sept. 20, 2024, and APWU representatives at all levels have been working hard to prepare for contract negotiations, which begin on June 25.  Negotiations are never easy, and our success depends on building power and leverage. The foundation of our union starts with every member as we work to win improved wages, benefits, and rights in the workplace for more than 200,000 APWU-represented postal workers.

APWU has been preparing for Opening Day. In March, members completed a bargaining survey to highlight their needs and priorities on the workroom floor for negotiations. Then, in April, APWU National launched a “Building Union Power” national organizing drive to grow our membership and strengthen our collective power heading into negotiations.

Now, Opening Day is upon us, and we are ready to stand up and be union proud! APWU is calling on members to wear APWU gear on June 25. Send your photos to communications@apwu.org so that we can show our solidarity from coast to coast!

“We appreciate all of the members who are helping build our strength as the opening day of contract negotiations approaches,” said APWU President Mark Dimondstein. “Everything you do makes a difference. Completing a survey, building our membership, wearing your union gear with pride, and mobilizing our membership to action shows the power we have when we take action together. As the negotiations approach, members will continue to build the power we need to win a strong new contract. I encourage you to stay active, stay informed, and stay involved throughout the contract campaign.”

Don’t forget to send your local and state rally photos to communications@apwu.org so that we can feature your important work in future APWU publications.
