Negotiations Over New Contract Ongoing
December 3, 2010
Contract negotiations between the APWU and the USPS continued Thursday, Dec. 2, and Friday, Dec. 3, and union representatives will be meeting over the weekend, APWU President Cliff Guffey said Friday afternoon. “We are continuing to work hard to reach an agreement with management that will be good for our members, as well as for the Postal Service and the American people,” he said.
“The union’s focus remains the same,” Guffey said. “We are working to safeguard jobs and lessen the pain of excessing. We also are discussing wages and issues related to workforce structure.
“We remain convinced that if management is serious about negotiating a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, a settlement is possible,” he said.
The APWU will continue to provide frequent updates regarding the status of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. For the latest developments, please visit www.apwu.org.
