The issue in this grievance is whether local management is proper in requiring sweeper-tyers to sleeve trays of mail from the sweepside of the MPLSM. During our discussion, we agreed that the disputed duties may be assigned to the sweeper-tyers. These sweeper-tyers are Distribution Clerks, Machine, MPLSM. As such, position description SP2-633 describes their principal duties and responsibilities. Paragraph B of SP2-633 provides for the tying, traying and dispatching of mail from the MPLSM as required. Based on the foregoing, we agreed to close this case as no further action is required.
