This is in response to your letter of March 19, which inquired as to whether an employee who has received retraining pursuant to Sections 133.1 and 133.2 of the P-24 Handbook (Operator Training for Sorting Machines) must pass a qualification test after such retraining. For your information, the intent of the retraining referenced in Sections 133.1 and 133.2 of the P-24 Handbook is to acknowledge that some machine operators may require limited retraining after an absence from MPLSM duties for a significant period of time. It was not intended that such employees be required to pass a requalification test after this retraining. I trust that this clarification satisfies your inquiry.
