The question raised in this grievance involved the clearing of jams (belt replacement) by Flat Sorting Machine Operators. We agreed that employees assigned to the FSM operation may be utilized to clear jams on the FSM as provided by the FSM 775 manual. However, MPE mechanics may be utilized depending on the complexity of the jam. Based on the above referenced understanding, we agreed to close this case at this step of the grievance procedure.
