The issue in this grievance is whether all FSM operators should be paid level 6. After reviewing this matter, we mutually agreed that no national interpretive issue is fairly presented in this case. The level of the flat sorting machine operators was established, and vas not contested just as the SPLSM positions were non-scheme is level 5, scheme is level 6. Both are operator paced and appropriately compensated. Accordingly, we agreed to remand this case to the parties at Step 3 for further process, including arbitration if necessary.
