This grievance pertains to an alleged violation of Articles 25 and 37 of the National Agreement. Specifically, the Union contends that PS-4 Mail Processors performed verification duties and should be compensated at the PS-5 rate. The Union requests that all OCR/BCS Mail Processors be reimbursed the difference between the PS-4 and PS-5 rate and that all Mail Processors be upgraded to PS-5. Upon full discussion and consideration of this matter, it is determined that this grievance is settled at the Regional level in that Mail Processors will be compensated at the PS-5 rate for actual time spent in the verification of mail. In addition, such employees will be compensated the difference between the PS-4 and the PS-5 for any documented verification duties performed during the 14 day period immediately preceding the filing of the Step 1 appeal.
