The issue in this grievance is whether the grievant is entitled to reimbursement of used sick leave requested for an on-the-job injury. After reviewing this matter, we mutually agreed that no national interpretive issue is fairly presented in this case. Whether the employee is entitled to be reimbursed for sick leave that was requested for an on-the job injury is a matter suitable for local determination based on the application of Section 540 of the Employee and Labor Relations manual to the fact circumstances. Accordingly, we agreed to remand this case to the parties at Step 3 for further processing including arbitration, if necessary.
