The APWU National Executive Board has voted to open nominations for the vacancy in the National Business Agent position caused by the untimely death of Percy Harrison Jr. Brother Harrison, who died on June 18, had filed the necessary petitions for candidacy and was unchallenged.

Nominating petitions for the position of NBA, Clerk Division (A), may be obtained from the Secretary-Treasurer’s office from June 27, to July 13, 2007. The completed petitions must be received by July 27, 2007, at 4 p.m., Eastern Time. To be placed on the ballot, eligible candidates must have their petitions signed by eight locals within the region.

A drawing for ballot position will be held on July 27, 2007, at 5 p.m. Eastern Time, in the office of the Secretary-Treasurer.

Candidate statements must be received by Aug. 3, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time; the statements will be distributed to eligible voters by mail.

A complete set of rules governing the election for NBA Chicago Region was mailed to eligible Clerk Craft APWU members in the region on June 27, 2007. The rules are the same as those previously published for other races, with the exception of the dates above.
